We are really excited to be working with Airpulse again. Here is a bit about them…

For years, renowned speaker designer and audio engineer Phil Jones had been devoted to creating the perfect loudspeaker, from humble beginnings building his own bass guitar, amplifier and speaker cabinet in 1968. This passion led to him joining the legendary Vitavox Loudspeaker Co. in 1980, and eventually founding Acoustic Energy in 1987. It was here that the famous AE-1 near-field monitors were formally named following many Abbey Road Studio sessions as a prototype.

The following years were filled with nominations and awards for the speakers Phil produced, until 1997, when the iconic Air Pulse 3.1 loudspeaker system was awarded the prestigious Golden Sound Award for best loudspeaker developed in the last 100 years by the Japan Audio Society. Incidentally, these speakers stand at over 7ft tall and cost around $275,000 per pair… only 10 pairs have been sold to date.

Platinum Audio Systems Company was founded in 2004 in partnership with Edifier Technology Co., manufacturer of Edifier speakers and headphones, which are aimed more at a consumer market. The first official release was the A200 in 2016, which featured Airpulse’s first hifi range active speaker featuring ribbon tweeters. The A300 soon followed in 2017 which featured 6.5” drivers, and then the entry level A100 was released in 2018, featuring a signature gloss finish that elevated the brand to contemporary ware.

To date, Airpulse continues the company’s legacy in both consumer and professional audio products, producing powered speakers which combine reference monitor sound quality and timeless retro styling for the discerning music lover. Guided by a design philosophy for simplicity and efficiency, a considerable amount of research was spent on product design and the selection of components. The company’s dedication and acute attention to detail combined has contributed to the Airpulse speakers’ indelible performance and growing fan base.
