20 years ago, Ethan Nyholm put his laptop in a padded envelope, put this in his backpack and left the house… and then an idea hit him and STM Goods was born. Having humble beginnings and gradually moving to Bondi Beach, Ethan and his business partner Adina had a vision of creating a fashionable alternative to the black, hard briefcase. A traditional briefcase didn’t suit Ethan’s active lifestyle and was too cumbersome to be carried on and off public transport and around university. Ethan and Adina set about creating a backpack specifically designed to protect digital gear while offering a fashion-forward look, gaining inspiration from the setting of Bondi Beach and the active lifestyle which is so prevalent there. STM – Smarter Than Most – was launched with one laptop backpack and one protective sleeve.

In the decades since, STM Goods has become an industry leader in the creation of laptop bags, packs, fitted cases, and other accessories. Although understanding that the market has changed, the initial inspiration behind the brand is still forefront, which is understanding how the device/devices are used on a day-to-day basis and adding to the user experience, organisation and protection of their tech.

STM products are available worldwide and they continue to be at the forefront of exciting tech designs, which has expanded to include wireless tech chargers and laptop/phone protectors.
